Poetry - my silent dreams

A Summer Romance

Walking together, hand in hand
Side by side in this wondrous land
Looks of passion, feelings of love
Searching for peace like a lonesome dove

Feeling the heartbeat going so fast
No one can know if this romance will last
They look so innocent, calm and sweet
Feelings so warm, like a killing heat

The ocean beside them all wet and wild
Still it embrace anyone ever so mild
The couple are like that all day long
Singing out their love like a never ending song

She keeps a secret so very deep within
He doesn't know what's about to begin
Careful, she thinks, is what we should have been
Her figure would no longer stay this thin

A summer romance that wasn't meant to last
Another girl waiting as the time had passed
He left her alone without saying goodbye
Seventeen she was and couldn't see why

He had been so exciting, handsome and strong
Fifteen years between had never seemed wrong
She never guessed that all he wanted was fun
Alone she was with another life that just had begun
